Payments

Understand business and individual payment flows, receipts, fee splitting, and payout timing.

Payments

Kharisma supports immediate service payments, tips, and donations through QR codes and shared links.

This page covers the business and individual payment flow.

Connected Profiles can sit inside the tip and donation experience, but not the service-payment experience.

Business and individual flows

Business and Individual accounts can use Kharisma to:

  • receive payments for services
  • receive tips
  • receive donations
  • send receipts
  • use multiple payment methods
  • split fees

The payment is immediate.

Recurring payments are not part of the business or individual service-payment flow.

Fee splitting

Current public pricing uses a 3.9% + 50¢ total processing fee.

Where fee splitting is enabled, the sender can choose how to handle the fees.

Common options include:

  • 50/50
  • sender pays all fees

Keep the fee choice visible before the sender confirms the payment.

Connected profile behavior

Connected Profiles can receive tips and donations.

In a connected experience, the sender can:

  • choose one specific connected profile or person
  • split a tip or donation evenly across the connected profiles

This is useful when one QR code should support a team instead of a single person.

Payout timing

Stripe handles payout setup and verification.

For many business and individual accounts, funds are typically available the next business day through Stripe payout timing.

What this is used for

Common examples include:

  • restaurants
  • hotels
  • bars
  • freelancers
  • musicians
  • creators
  • service providers

Nonprofit note

Nonprofits use a different flow.

They receive donations and tips, not service payments.

Read the Nonprofits page for the nonprofit-specific behavior.
