QR Codes

Learn how to download, print, share, and manage Kharisma QR codes.

QR Codes

Kharisma QR codes connect a real-world moment to the mobile-first webapp.

A supporter scans the QR code with a phone camera, opens the page, chooses an action, and confirms.

What you can do with QR codes

From the dashboard, users can:

  • copy and share the QR code link
  • download QR codes
  • print QR codes
  • generate printable QR codes in two formats: 2x2 and 3x4
  • choose a QR code type: Payments + Tips or Tips Only (available for Business and Individual accounts)
  • manage and control QR codes
  • add QR codes to mobile wallets where available

QR code types

Business and Individual accounts can choose between two QR code types when downloading from the dashboard:

  • Payments + Tips -- accepts both service payments and gratuities.
  • Tips Only -- accepts gratuities and donations exclusively, with no payment transactions.

Non-profit accounts do not have this option. QR code type selection is not available for nonprofits.

Example: Hotels are registered as Business accounts but often prefer Tips Only QR codes -- for front desk areas, rooms, or service staff -- rather than full payment collection. The Tips Only option supports this without requiring a different account type.

Download formats

QR codes are available in two print-ready formats:

  • 2x2 -- compact square format, useful for table tents, stickers, and small signage.
  • 3x4 -- larger portrait format, useful for posters, stands, and wall displays.

Both formats use Kharisma's default branded design, so users who want a consistent look across locations can download and print without customization.

How QR codes work

A Kharisma QR code points to a profile or support flow.

The QR code can be printed or displayed digitally.

Supporters do not need a separate app.

When the QR code points to a connected experience, supporters can see grouped people, folders, or joined profiles in the browser flow.

Printing QR codes

Print QR codes large enough to scan from a normal distance.

Practical rules:

  • keep the QR code high contrast
  • do not stretch or crop the code
  • leave white space around the code
  • test the printed version with more than one phone
  • include a short label that explains the action

POP materials

QR holders are useful for restaurants, hotels, bars, churches, nonprofits, and individual profiles.

Good holder copy:

  • Scan to tip
  • Scan to give
  • Scan to donate
  • Scan to support our team

Reusing QR codes

A QR code can be reused when it points to the same profile or destination.

Print new QR codes when:

  • the destination changes
  • the campaign changes
  • the profile name changes
  • the old code is damaged
